Big Island condos are a great place to stay while vacationing in Hawaii. There are many condos available across the island in all nine districts. The Big Island's condos offer various types of accommodations from luxury resorts to quiet get-a-ways. Three of the most famous Big Island condo resorts are located on the Kohala Gold Coast. These are the Mauna Lani Resort, the Waikoloa Beach Resort, and the Mauna Kea Beach Resort. A Big Island condo vacation at any of these resorts will feel like a paradise vacation. The Mauna Lani Resort is located on Ili Kupono or Royal Lands. The Mauna Lani is located in a very peaceful setting. Within the resort are three white sandy beaches, natural ponds and swimming holes, coconut groves and ancient petroglyph fields. There are also 15 acres of fishpond preserves and 27 acres of historic parks. The crystal clear water that encompasses the resort at Mauna Lani features sparkling coral reefs. Other Big Island Hawaii condos are located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort which is situated along Anaehoomalu Bay. The King's Trail is preserved within the Waikoloa Beach Resort and visitors can walk the same path that was walked by chieftains and kings - including King Kamehameha. This trail is surrounded by ancient Petroglyphs and exotic native Hawaiian plants. The resort at Waikoloa Beach also includes 2 golf courses and a spa. It is a beautiful, natural quiet setting. Big Island condos are numerous on the west side. They vary greatly in the size of the complex as well as the number of units in each complex. Hale Pohaku is a beautiful vacation condo complex located on the Kona coast. This rental condo complex only has six units to each complex. Designed by an award winning architect from Oahu, Vladimir Ossipoff, the units incorporate many local (or kamaaina) features providing an authentic Hawaiian island experience. Among the features are a large open lanai, screened full length louvers which provide flow through ventilation and sliding glass windows and screens. The windows and screens hide completely in a pocket so the entire living room opens to the lanai. These Big Island condos are very private with unobstructed views of the ocean. There is also an oversized swimming pool at the ocean. Most Big Island condos offer fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes. That means that everything that might be needed (except for food) is there when you arrive for your vacation. Pots, pans, dishes, silverware, appliances even napkins and potholders are provided. A Big Island condo will also provide all the towels and linens - even beach towels. Most condo units have color TV with cable hookup, stereos, radios, telephones, washer and dryers, and even an ironing board and iron.
